I’m back in Toronto.
Two years.
Four continents.
Eighteen countries.
Eighty plus cities and towns.
Saying it out loud almost feels… detached. Like I’m talking about someone else’s life.
But I lived it.
And it was everything.
Lonely at times.
Fulfilling at times.
Boring at times.
Exciting at times.
Which, I’ve come to realize…. is just life.
Not the journey. Not the places. Not the passport stamps.
Not the run in with the Costa Rican Coast Guards.
Not the traffic stop by local policia while driving without a license in Nicaragua.
Just life.
Along the way, it wasn’t just the places that stayed with me — it was the people.
The conversations with strangers that didn’t feel like strangers for long.
The shared meals, the passing laughs, the brief but meaningful connections that somehow felt complete even in their shortness.
Some became friends I’ll keep. Others were just meant for that moment. But each one reminded me that no matter where you are in the world, connection finds a way — if you’re open to it.
And somewhere along this journey, I stopped chasing the “highlight reel” version of it. I started taking each day as it came. Breathing it in. Letting it be enough — whether it was extraordinary or completely uneventful.
And now, I’m here.
Back where it all started.
The next three months will be dedicated to the Fringe. Rehearsals. Refining. Repeating. Obsessing over the small details.
But also…
Catching up with old friends.
Making space for new ones.
Reconnecting in a way that travel doesn’t always allow.
Because life has a way of balancing itself.
Two years of movement…. followed by stillness.
Two years of new…. followed by familiar.
And I’m looking forward to that balance.
Not as an ending.
Just as the next rhythm.
