These two songs remind me of my support group on a cruise a group of strangers who, for a brief time, became something more. We arrived from different places, carrying different stories, yet somehow found common ground through shared moments on a ship.
I Got You Babe speaks to the quiet reassurance we offered one another, often without realizing it. Just being present, listening, laughing, and showing up was enough. My Way reflects the individuality each of us brought –the paths we’d taken, the choices that shaped us, and the dignity of owning our stories.
The cruise ended, as all journeys do, but the connection lingered. Music has a way of preserving those fleeting communities, reminding me that even among strangers, support can form, briefly and beautifully, when we meet each other exactly where we are.
