  • “Somewhere Down the Crazy River” – Robbie Robertson

It’s 1987, and I’m attending high school for the third time –my third graduation from a high school: Trinidad, Texas, and now Ontario, Canada.

After graduating grade 12 in Texas, I assumed I would go straight to university like my classmates. Instead, I discovered Ontario had a 13th grade. On paper, it may have looked like I was a genius but in reality, I had already taken most of these classes before.

Grades had shifted along the way: a C in Trinidad, an A in Texas, and now an A+ in Canada. It wasn’t about getting smarter overnight; it was about retaining knowledge, adapting, and continuing forward even if the path felt a little crazy along the way.

Somewhere Down the Crazy River captures that strange, meandering rhythm of life moving between places, schools, and expectations, yet always pressing onward.
