Today, I (or Soleil) caught myself wanting to find fault in our health industry.
To point fingers. To question decisions. To ask, “Who’s to blame?”
But then I was reminded of the song “No One Is to Blame” by Howard Jones.
What if… no one is?
What if we chose to believe that most decisions — especially in something as complex as health — are made with the best intentions, using the information available at the time?
It’s easy, when things go wrong, to look for someone or something to blame.
The past becomes a convenient target.
I could blame my childhood.
I could blame people who hurt me.
I could blame circumstances… even something as random as the water on the grass.
But what does that actually change?
At some point, we have to release judgment — especially judgment rooted in hindsight.
Because judging today through the lens of yesterday keeps us stuck there.
And that brings me to another song: “Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)” by Doris Day.
Maybe the lesson is this:
Do the best you can with what you know.
Trust that others are doing the same.
And when things don’t go as planned, let go of blame.
Because sometimes… it simply is what it is.
